Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez is a Cuban and American television arbitrator since Caso Cerrado. Ana was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. Then she moved to Miami with her family around age 2 after moving from Havana. Ana Maria Polo from Habana is the host and producer of Telemundo's "Caso Cerrado" one of the most well-loved Spanish-language programming on the network. The show was nominated for one of the Daytime Entertainment Emmy for Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards in 2015. The show was ranked at the top for all the key demos. Polo was born in Havana in 1959. Following her graduation at Florida International University's political science program, she moved to Havana and lived there for the next 20 years. She then earned a PhD in Law at the University of Miami, and practiced for twenty years within Miami. Following her PhD from the University of Miami she practiced law in Miami for more than 20 years. Polo was first exposed to television audiences in 2001 on Telemundo's program Sala de Parejas (2001) and other court shows where her legal expertise was tapped. Literature Works and Accolades 1958 she published the book Los Hijos Muertos (The dead children) in which she won the Critic's Prize and Spanish National Prize for Literature. Ana Maria Matute moved to the United States from Spain in 1960. Polo regularly speaks, and she helps in raising funds for the cause. Polo has been an active advocate for LGBT rights throughout the course of her life. Her law degree was awarded in 1987 from University of Miami School of Law.
